The establishment of SDP’s privately owned production facility for plasticizer signaled SDP’s initial venture into plasticizer chemicals manufacturing.

To meet the growing demand for specialty chemicals, SDP has seized opportunities in building its own production plant in Serang, West Java, with capacity of 30,000 metric ton (MT) per year. To date, with high level of efficiency reinforced by strong marketing skills, SDP is even ready to extend its annual production capacity up to 60,000 MT, going forward.

SDP’s plasticizer products are vital components in the manufacturing process used in the production of PVC plastics. SDP’s plasticizers are grouped into Dioctyl Phthalate (DOP) and Diisononyl Phthalate (DINP).

To ensure SDP’s reputation and continued growth, the company has obtained several certifications and awards, which are as follows:

1. In 2005 received ISO 9001:2008 certification;
2. In 2010 received ISO 14001:2004 certification;
3. In 2010 received OHSAS 18001:2007 certification;
4. From 2011 to 2014 consecutively received Blue PROPER, and this led SDP to be appointed as a waste management pilot project in Serang regency;
5. In 2014 received Zero Accident Award.

Through the application of its automated DCS technology, SDP is ready to manufacture different types of plasticizer or customized product specifications to meet each customer’s unique requirements.

Distribution

SDP distributes industrial chemicals that are produced in its own facilities. Extending over Indonesia’s various industrial sectors, its large customer base has benefited from a dedicated team that has provided unfailing support all throughout the mandatory processes.

SDP’s plant offer customers prompt services and technical assistance, while quickly moving when it comes to better serving its customers. Meanwhile, in keeping with the continually upgraded system, SDP has adopted best manufacturing practices, which have proven effective domestically. By employing a ‘just in time’ delivery, it has expanded its fleet of delivery of trucks to ensure efficiency.

Delivery to Customers

1. Lorry Tank, which consists of 5 Kl, 10 Kl, 20Kl and 24 Kl of fleet capacity. SDP also owns a dedicated transportation vehicles totaling 16 stand-by units ready to manage the fleet traffic after our team has completed a strict quality control process. The aim is to prevent contamination of chemicals.
2. Intermediate Bulk Container (IBC) with capacity of 1 ton or equivalent to 1000 kilo.
3. 200 liter of Reconditioned Drum, which is utilized by SDP after passing the recondition process, and is now promising a ready-to-use product quality for customers, while emphasizing cross selling between the group as well as its other subsidiaries.

Quality Control

Although SDP’s products already adhere to, or surpass, the industry standards, the company’s approach to quality involves the constant refinement and improvement of its products and processes.

Strict adherence to the industry standards coupled with the highest level of operational efficiency, are being SDP’s two primary objectives in terms of quality. Meanwhile, to ensure that SDP’s customers are always getting the highest quality products, SDP implements the most rigid quality control standards, from the raw materials up to the finished intermediate products. Only those that pass the highest level of quality are acceptable, to guaranteeing the quality of the end products.

To do so, SDP adopts a system called ‘Five Steps of Quality Control Standards, which comprise:

1. Quality of raw materials: SDP ensures that raw materials received for further processing are of the best quality by rigorously checking specifications assisted by PT Sari Sarana Kimia (SSK) laboratory facilities at the port of entry, as soon as the raw materials are received.
2. Pre-processing checking: specifications are checked once again before any raw materials are processed.
3. In-process checking: during the production process different sets of specifications are checked.
4. Post-processing/finished-product quality control: once processing has been completed, the quality and specifications of the final products are compared against international standards.
5. Pre-delivery quality control: as a final check, SDP once again inspects final products to ensure that all the SDP and international standard specifications have been met prior to product delivery to customers.

Within each of the above QC phase, SDP applies Gas Chromathography method to ensure that high quality level materials have been manufactured according to the specifications required by the production.

Post the final delivery to customers, SDP keeps monitoring its product quality. For instance is by taking random samples from an average of three to four customers each month to control the quality level. As a follow up, feedback obtained from this sampling process is used to develop ways of improving the quality of SDP’s products and processes. Besides, SDP also communicates with its customers in line with the effort to constantly make quality adjustments on later production being run. Among others is through regular questionnaire that the company distributes to customers to receive more feedback as part of SDP’s continuous improvement initiative.
